We need a critical mass of teachers demanding access. They've got to find out about real teachers using these tools. Viki Davis or Will Richardson would be a dream team :-)

I just left a comment on the "old picture" page. Go have a look.

I also said I would put the page on the library image search page. Alas - I forgot that it is on blogger and thus will be blocked by our fearless fido. Oh well.

I think you have the beginnings of a great idea going here. Coming up with a picture like this and challenging the kids to find out what it is all about. Do we allow the kids to use "the wisdom of the crowd" and ask each other and adults for help??? Do we set it up as an activity where they have 15 minutes to find the right answer? Can it be set up competitively so that no one is allowed to talk and share information? How do they hide their screens so others don't see their search queries and search sites? It could be lots of fun!

Odd in that only one of them is content related. And it is related to Psych/Soc which I don't think of as one of the "meat & potatoes" Social Studies classes. My point was that it is 4 different goals and I feel like I am going into goal-overload.

Whoops. I read your post too quickly. I thought you already knew there was a Youtube video. Did you ever find it? A quick search of YouTube provided some 2-4 minute clips. Haven't found the whole thing yet. We might have to purchase it. If you find it somwhere to purchase, let me know. Our BOCES School Library System IMC will order it for you I am sure. I will start hunting around.

I'm WAY behind in my blog reading. Plus Google Reader is acting funny. It hasn't showed me any of your new posts till today. Weird.

Anyway - you can convert YouTube videos into a format that most computers can handle and then download it to your computer. I can't remember the name of the program right now - but I know where I can find it at school. The question will be - can the white boxes handle the file? I think the white boxes will be replaced soon. Fingers crossed.

Hope you and your family enjoyed the rest of the summer.
