Overcoming technology barriers
I think we have violated a couple of these ideas already. By we I mean Gates Beatles. And by violated I mean the small fast projects (no. 4). ACE & School of Tomorrow were big broad projects that included many students but not many teachers. It would be nice if we could move some of our teachers out of the web -1.0 arena into the web 1.0 section.

I think GB was supposed to model real-world learning using all sorts of tools – web 2.0 AND web 1.0. Whatever works best. Chain saws are good for some jobs, hand saws are better for other tasks.
Alas! It just isn’t taking off with a lot of teachers. There will be a technology staff development day this year. Hopefully there will be time for teachers to learn a new skill and incorporate it in at least one lesson. Just like the kids – people learn best by doing, not just listening.
